The Five Steps in The Writing Process
1. Pre-Writing
- This can include planning, researching, outlining, mind-mapping, etc. 2. Drafting -Preparing the first piece of writing 3. Revising - Reconsidering previous writing decisions. Changing, removing or adding new text. 4. Editing - Making sure grammar, punctuation, and spelling is all correct. 5. Publishing -The completed document is ready for public consumption. |

The writing process isn't always linear. When an author is working on a piece they will constantly be thinking up new ideas, revising, drafting, and editing their work. To have a great piece of literature, each step of the writing process will have to be hit at least once.
